A very cool tool for bibliophiles
For those of you who haven’t heard of Book Burro yet, you owe it to yourselves to check it out.
It’s a really well done price comparison tool that will automatically show you competitors’ prices when browsing a site like Amazon or B&N. Installation is pretty straightforward, but you’ll need two things to get it running, Firefox as your browser, and the wonderful Greasemonkey extension.
If you’re not running Firefox, and are on a PC, you really owe it to yourself to check it out. At the risk of starting a browser war, it’s a great product that allows you to customize it with as many extensions as you personally want. It’s also open source software and is completely free.
Greasemonkey has a ton of potential for all kinds of user modifications to existing websites to completely customize your personal viewing experience. I would guess Book Burro is just the start of a wonderful set of scripts that will change how we experience the web dramatically. It also opens a can of worms, but I’ll step off the soap box now…
Anyways, check Book Burro out if you haven’t already; it’s a very cool portent of the future of the net.
